Syed Atif Ryhan, a student of the Bachelor of Business Administration at American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), was selected as one of eight Bangladeshi university students to win Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future 2025 Bangladesh.” Following a highly competitive selection process that began with nearly 3,000 applicants, the achievement provided him with the opportunity to participate in Huawei’s Talent Development Flagship Project in China.
As part of the program, Atif embarked on an immersive 10-day journey (August 16-26, 2026) across China, gaining first-hand exposure to emerging technologies, innovation ecosystems, and global industry practices. The journey began at Huawei’s Songshan Lake campus, where he participated in an interactive training session on 5G technology, exploring its architecture, ultra-low latency, massive IoT connectivity, and applications in smart cities, autonomous driving, and advanced healthcare. He also explored Huawei’s Smart PV solutions and learned how artificial intelligence, real-time monitoring, and digital technologies are being used to improve renewable energy efficiency.
The journey continued with intensive learning on Cloud and Artificial Intelligence, where he gained insights into scalable digital infrastructure, data storage, global connectivity, automation, intelligent decision-making, and the integration of AI and cloud technologies across industries. Alongside the technical learning experience, his visit to Xi Village offered an opportunity to experience the cultural heritage of China while being immersed in an environment centered on technological innovation.
In Shenzhen, widely recognized in the program as a major center of technological innovation, Atif visited Huawei’s Darwin Exhibition Hall, where he explored the company’s vision for the future through 5G, AI, cloud computing, and sustainable digital ecosystems. He also participated in a roundtable discussion with industry leaders, gaining perspectives on entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and innovation.
His China experience further included a visit to Longgang Smart Park, where he observed how digital platforms, IoT, and AI are being integrated into smart-government systems to create more efficient, transparent, and citizen-centered public services. He also visited DJI, gaining first-hand exposure to cutting-edge drone technologies and their applications in areas including agriculture, logistics, and disaster management. The visit to Shenzhen InnoX Academy provided additional insights into entrepreneurship, research, startups, and collaboration between academia and industry.
Beyond technical and industry exposure, the program also emphasized personal and professional development. Through a dedicated talent-development session and interaction with Kenny Leung, he gained valuable perspectives on leadership, career growth, adaptability, continuous learning, and developing a growth mindset in the rapidly evolving digital era.
The 10-day journey in China therefore represented more than an international academic experience; it provided Atif with an opportunity to engage directly with one of the world's leading technology ecosystems, connect with industry professionals, explore emerging technologies, and broaden his understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship. His participation reflects his commitment to continuous learning and interdisciplinary development, while representing AIUB on an international platform.
